AS I HAVE OFTEN SAID TO MY DEAR WIFE,
IGNORE THE RANTING AND RAVINGS OF THE ATHEISTS,
THE SKEPTICS, THE SO CALLED NON BELIEVERS,
BECAUSE YOU AND I MY DEAR,
WE KNOW WE HAVE THE EVIDENCE FROM A LIFETIME OF INVESTIGATIONS.
WE ARE HAPPY AND CONTENT IN THE BELIEF THAT
GOD DID NOT CREATE HUMAN BEINGS,
HIS MOST WONDERFUL CREATION,
TO LET THEM DISAPPEAR INTO OBLIVION.
WE KNOW A MOST WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE AWAITS US AND OUR LOVED ONES
AT THE MOMENT OF DEATH OF OUR PHYSICAL BODIES -
NEW AND BEAUTIFUL WORLDS WILL OPEN UP TO US.
THE ATHEIST AND CLOSE MIND PERSON HAS NOTHING MORE
THAN SIX FEET OF DIRT TO LOOK FORWARD TO.
YOU AND I MY DEAR WILL BE TOGETHER FOR EVER.

EDWARD WARREN, RELIGIOUS DEMONOLOGIST

For those battling evil in any form, Lent is an important season. It reminds us of our own sinfulness and our need to repent and walk closer with the Lord. Too often we make excuses for our own actions and dilute the "Good News" of Jesus Christ to what "I want to do."

With Jesus Christ, we need not fear any evil - in any form. But the strength to do so comes from God, not us. We are the earthen vessels who must allow God to mold us in His way, not ours. Too often pride is use by the devil to destroy, along with avarice. We speak of Jesus Christ, but does He truly have the prime place in our lives? Are we doing God's will, or ours wrapped in the guise of serving God?

Thus says the Lord GOD:

..Tell my people their wickedness,

and the house of Jacob their sins.

They seek me day after day,

and desire to know my ways,

Like a nation that has done what is just

and not abandoned the law of their God;

...(They cry) “Why do we fast, and you do not see it?

afflict ourselves, and you take no note of it?”

Lo, on your fast day you carry out your own pursuits,

...Would that today you might fast

so as to make your voice heard on high!

...releasing those bound unjustly,

...Setting free the oppressed,

...Sharing your bread with the hungry,

sheltering the oppressed and the homeless;

Clothing the naked when you see them,

and not turning your back on your own.

Then your light shall break forth like the dawn,

and your wound shall quickly be healed;

Your vindication shall go before you,

and the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.

Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer,

you shall cry for help, and he will say: Here I am!
